
Scone Bypass

With design completed, the bypass will reroute heavy vehicles around the town centre.
A two lane highway bypass to the west of Scone passing through the Scone Golf Course will involve three bridges and allow vehicles – heavy or commuter, to avoid railway crossings and slowing down through the Scone Town Centre.
Scone will benefit with a quieter, more relaxing town centre, allowing it to revitalise in many ways. A revitalisation master plan is available here.

AIRPORT REDEVELOPMENT & AVIATION VISITOR ATTRACTION
Value $20M Estimated completion 2020
Airport redevelopment will deliver a modern airport that includes the Warbird Aviation Attraction. A full-length parallel taxiway will allow two jets to take off or land at the same time, taking accessibility to a new level.
The redevelopment will create two jet aircraft parking positions that can also be used for a single Code C aircraft, 43 Code A aircraft parking positions and more helicopter parking, as well as an expanded public parking lot.
A new Council Shed, SES facility, Rural Fire Service station and relocated terminal building are also in the plans, along with a new Avgas refuelling facility.
The Warbird Aviation Attraction is an addition with wide appeal to anyone in the public who has an interest in vintage aircraft.

SCONE TO MURRURUNDI PIPELINE

The pipeline will deliver potable water to Murrurundi, ending many years of high level water restrictions for the town.
Upper Hunter Shire Council is constructing a 40km underground water supply pipeline from Scone to Murrurundi, which will include tanks and pump stations.
The pipeline will provide Murrurundi with a secure water source from Lake Glenbawn to Murrurundi reservoirs. Infrastructure will be installed along a pipeline corridor, an area along the pipeline route where access will be required.

WHITE PARK RECREATION & EQUINE FACILITY
Value $3M (Stage 1) Estimated completion 2018
Following considerable planning Stage 1 will provide all-weather facilities for the region. The master planned $10 million equestrian centre once completed will provide the latest equestrian facilities, camping, show arenas and an all-weather entertainment venue.
It is expected to generate several thousand new visitors to the region and an increase of around 15,000 visitor nights or $2.6 million of additional tourist spend a year.
Planning is underway for Stage 2 of the White Park project which includes completing the arena seating, toilets, upgraded power supply, water and sewerage for the whole park, new stables and horse boxes, roadways, camping amenities, bar, canteen, landscaping and a causeway or bridge over Fig Tree Gully.
LIVESTOCK SELLING CENTRE

Designs are completed and funding secured, this project will provide the latest in animal and human welfare as well as environmental improvements to the important selling centre.
INDOOR SPORTS CENTRE
Value $10M Estimated completion 2022
Construction of an indoor multipurpose sports centre including a 25m heated pool.
SCONE GOLF CLUB
Value $3.5m Estimated completion 2018
A new course will be delivered, funded by RMS.
TAFE NSW CONNECTED LEARNING CENTRE
Value $2M Estimated completion 2019
The latest in remote education will complement existing educational institutions. The project will be located in the Scone CBD and will allow connected learning without the need to travel.
LIBRARY, CULTURE & COMMUNITY PRECINCT
Future project proposed for Scone
A precinct would include the town library, a gallery, exhibition space and other cultural activities.
UPPER HUNTER ENERGY PARK

This approved wind and solar farm to the west of Scone will generate 113MW of electricity and support the regions clean and green vision.
HORSE CENTRE OF AUSTRALIA
Value $15M Estimated completion 2021
Planning is underway to construct this prominent facility in the Horse Capital of Australia. The project will deliver the latest in function centres, interactive horse displays and other equine experiences.
CIVIC THEATRE
